Institutional Development

1994:

Beginning of activity as a Urban Microcredit Department in the framework of the Albanian Development Fund.

1999:

Establishment of BESA Foundation as a non-government, non-political and non-profit organization, with SOROS Foundation as Founder.

2008:

Decision to transform from an NGO into a joint-stock company, in compliance with the Albanian legislation.

2008:

Lincensed by the Bank of Albania as Non-Bank Financial Institution.

2009:

Fondi BESA assets and staff were transferred to Fondi BESA sh.a.
